UML in support of directly elected chief executive: Pokharel

Kathmandu, 29 Oct : 

CPN (UML) general secretary Ishwar Pokharel has opined that if the constitution was amended then the chief executive of the country should be directly elected. 

Speaking at a programme organised by the CPN (UML) Kathmandu Metropolis-4 committee to exchange festive greetings with a tea reception today, leader Pokharel stressed on amending the electoral and governance system in the constitution. 

He said that the directly elected chief executive was essential to end filthy political game of changing the government. 

Pokharel argued that his party was working to make the country prosperous and independent. 
Leader Pokharel said that Tihar, Nepal Sambat, Chhath among other such festivals help strengthen social harmony creating trust among the people.
